Play-based. Earth- and Kid-Friendly. Flexible.
We believe if children -- who are naturally capable, self-motivated learners -- are in a well-designed, natural environment in the hands of talented and passionate teachers, they will thrive and grow to their unique potential. Read more about our methods and materials in Our Philosophy.
Maria Rodriguez, Director
Maria is honored to support and partner with Toddle's families to encourage the social, emotional and intellectual growth unique to each child. She is a gifted mentor and trainer, providing workshops all over the Bay Area on curriculum development and best practices in the field. Maria is passionate about engaging children's bright curiosities as they play. She believes she has the best job in the world.
In her free time, Maria enjoys baking, Star Wars, and cheering on her teenage son and his swim team. In her last life, Maria was a professional dancer!
Samantha Pon, Teacher
Samantha has worked with children for over five years. She was drawn to the field of education due to her fun-loving nature: her affinity for laughter, silliness, and physical activity is a plus in the classroom! Samantha has been known to ask, "When you do what you love doing AND get rewarded with hugs, how can this feel like a job?"
When Samantha is not at Toddle, she enjoys playing sports, cycling, playing board games and going on road trips.
Caitlin Moran, Teacher
Caitlin has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for more than 10 years. She is passionate about creating a safe learning environment that empowers children to challenge themselves in ways that ignite their growth and development.
When she's not in the classroom, Caitlin enjoys running, hiking, visiting Murpy’s CA, scrapbooking, reading and spending time with loved ones.
JB Panglinan, Resource Teacher
JB has worked with children for over 10 years and has two sons of his own. As a child, JB enjoyed exploring the outdoors at his home in Texas. Since he can remember, JB has wanted to be a teacher so he could watch children grow and learn through their experiences.
When he's not at Toddle, you can find JB at the park and movies with his sons.
Christine Joy Modena, Resource Teacher
Christine has been an educator for more than 6 years. Ever since she was a little girl, Christine knew she wanted to teach. She is fascinated by the opportunity to encourage and observe children's learning, and Christine brings that joy and curiosity into the classroom at Toddle.
Christine enjoys traveling, hiking, exploring new foods, cooking, decorating cakes and planning parties.
With five children between them, Amy Burnett and Heather Hopkins know firsthand the importance of a high-quality early learning experience. They're thrilled to have brought to their community a top-notch program that also provides flexibility for families. Amy and Heather are also dedicated to building an environment in which educators are supported and energized to thrive in their chosen field, both at Toddle and beyond.
In addition to their time at Toddle, Amy and Heather are active community volunteers with nonprofits including All Five, AbleWorks, My New Red Shoes (which Heather founded in 2006), the Fit Kids Foundation, and There with Care.
